Congratulations to all the Students who participated at the MKHS Field Day Event on Saturday, February 9th.
The 2019 Baldwin Math Field Day team was formed by 20 8th graders and 8 7th graders. With a total of 28 students who participated in this annual event. Baldwin brought home 2 1st places, 1 2nd place, and 1 3rd place, including a grand trophy of Final Round in the entire 7 events.
The Baldwin winners in this year’s MFD are listed as follows:
Final Round (1st place)- Konnor Luong, Navin Naranong, Alexander Trang, Dylan Truong, & Aidan Wong (5 8th graders)
Topic of the Day (1st place)- Jaden Chow, Diana Cordova, & Ashley Weng (3 8th graders)
Gallery Walk (2nd place)- Eric Sun (7th grader)
Dramathic (3rd place)- Iliana Encinares, Angela Lee, Leonardo Campos-Yu (3 8th graders), Justin Wang, & Raymond Wang (2 7th graders)
Overall, each Baldwin MFD team member demonstrated high motivation, diligent work ethic, outstanding creativity and proficiency in terms of math concept as well as problem-solving skills. Ms. Cheng, the teacher who had been coaching the Baldwin MFD team for the past 15 years, complimented this year’s participants and parents for their long-term commitment. Also, the support and good wishes from Mr. Takeshita, Mrs. Phan, Mr. Byer, Mrs. Loose, and many Baldwin staff were the keys to make all these happen.
