This spring, your child and other students will participate in the state academic testing program, California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). CAASPP is a system intended to provide information that can be used to monitor student progress on a yearly basis, and ensure that all students leave high school ready for college and career. CAASPP assessments include a "computer adaptive test" in English–language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics, as well as an online "performance task" in each area for students in grades 3 – 8 and 11. This year there is also a computerized test in science for students in grades 5, 8 and 10.
Information can be found at: http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/ca/sbacparentguides.asp
This year, our CAASPP testing window is from April 10 through May 12. To learn about the types of questions on the computer-based test, you and your child can view or use the practice test online at http://www.caaspp.org/practice-and-training/index.html
